I just got an email from Adobe, telling me they’re releasing their industry-standard video editing app, Adobe Premiere, for the iPhone. As someone who has been using Adobe products since before they were even offered on the Windows/PC side (Photoshop was only available on Mac when it first came out), it’s refreshing to know that Adobe continues to recognize that creatives use Apple products, not Windows (although the Windows logo was created on a Mac lol).
I’m curious to know how they’re going to fit all the palettes and the video timeline onto an iPhone screen, especially in the vertical format, so I guess I better go and get the app for my iPhone and start playing around with it.
My only hesitation with the new iPhone version of Premiere is that it says it uses generative AI, and as someone who’s very outspoken against the use of AI (to replace the kind of work that up until now only creatives such as myself could produce) my hope is that I can use this new iPhone app without any AI, and let my unique and personal creative voice be what delivers the end product, rather than an LLM that a monkey could use to make itself look good.
